I find that whenever I explain to a non-reader what an audio book is, they end up telling me this famous quote a lot of you have heard:
‘That’s not a book, your not reading.’
Well just to show all those people that have ever said that to any of you, which I’m sure some of us have, here are a few audio books I cant wait to read within the next few weeks.
My most anticipated audio book to read this year is Sadie. It does come in book form of course, but I’ve noticed with recent trips to the bookstore, there are so many copies of Sadie still on the shelves, yet so popular. The reason for this: The audio book is supposedly way better. The book takes place in a podcast format, so obviously it’s meant for an audio book. It’s said to have an amazing ending and I am just so ready to listen to this book.
Camellia is a belle in Orleans, and a belle controls beauty. In Orleans, people are born gray, and with the help of a belle and her talents, they can be made beautiful. But Camellia wants to be the favorite belle, the one chosen by the queen to live in the palace and to be recognized as one of the greatest belle’s in the land.
Okay, I am nervous about reading this book in general because it sounds kind of like, I don’t know, snotty to me, but it does sound creative. I’ve heard the audio book is great so, I can just borrow it from the library and read it.
I don’t know a lot about this read, all I know is that Benjamin Alire Saenz books are supposed to be beautiful and people I know have fallen in love with it. Honestly I didn’t know if I would actually ever pick up this book this year, but Robbie Daymond, the guy who reads it, does such a good job with describing the characters emotions, so I am very excited.
Scythe takes place in a world where basically humanity’s bigger problems are solved that once possibly led to death. No hunger, no war, no disease, no death. In order to keep the population down, Scythes are ordered to kill people, to keep things under control. We follow two teens who in no way want to have this job, yet are chosen and commanded to do so.
I’m still wondering if I should buy and read this book, but people are telling me the audio book is great so, I don’t know we will have to see.
Tanner’s family relocates from California to Utah, forcing Tanner, a bisexual teen, to go back into the closet. With only one more semester to go, Tanner can’t wait to go off to college in another state and have his freedom from Utah. To pass by the time, Tanner’s friend Autumn dares him to part take in a four month seminar, where students try to draft a book within that amount of time. He joins the seminar and starts to realize he’s falling in love with the mentor of the class, the mormon prodigy.
Heard a lot of good things about this book, heard it’s an even better audio book so I’m excited to finally get to this one.
So what are some audiobooks your hoping to get to soon?
