Hello everyone, hope your having a happy Sunday so far. I have finished the first Harry Potter book and.. wow. I am very happily surprised with the outcome. I don’t think I have ever been so excited to read and finish a series, other than Caraval of course. So, let’s get on with my first Harry Potter review!

by J.K. Rowling ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐/5
Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone (#1) – J.K. Rowling
Obviously, I gave the first one a 5 stars, if you couldn’t tell by the little introduction I gave. I can’t believe how much I loved it, it was amazing! The writing, the characters, the world you dive into. The whole story is breathtaking. Harry Potter is a great character, but I have to say Hermoine is awesome and one of my favorites.
When I was in like elementary school and middle school and these books were super popular, I never understood, but it’s because I never gave it a chance. I will admit though, if I tried to read this when I was in high school, I wouldn’t have been able to pull it off. It wasn’t my reading preference back then and if it wasn’t for my recent interest in fantasy, I probably still wouldn’t have an interest.

I think one of my favorite parts of the book was when Harry retrieved the rememball for Neville that Draco threw. That whole scene is what got me fully engaged to the story, and everything after that was brilliant and incredible.
I watched the movie last night and wow, am I obsessed. I mean it did a pretty good job pulling the book into a movie and doing it right. Yes some things were left out, but I mean, a movie can’t be 3 hours long, a little over 2 hours is fine with me, the movie got the point across.
What did you guys think of the book that introduced you to the wizarding world of Harry Potter?
I love HP, re-reading it now – I’m currently on book 2.
