Hello everyone and all my bookish friends, today is Tuesday so that means of course, time for a Top Ten Tuesday post! This was an idea created by The Broke and the Bookish in June of 2010 and moved to That Artsy Reader Girl in 2018. It was born of a love of lists, a love of books, and a desire to bring bookish friends together.
The rules basically go a little like this:
- Jana creates a new topic every Tuesday to make your list, and you create your own Top Ten (or three, or five, or twenty, however many you choose!)
- Link back your posts to That Artsy Reader Girl so when others read your post, they’ll know where to go to get more info about future upcoming topics.
- There is a linky widget on Jana’s Top Ten Tuesday post so other’s can see your post as well as you being able to check out everyone else’s! So definitely leave your links!
- Don’t be afraid to add your own twist to it!
This week’s topic: Outrageous Things I’ve Done for the Love of Books! So let’s get started!
Counted Down To A Release Date
I have a countdown going currently for Finale on my phone right now, and I have looked at it literally every single day. I’m sad for this series to end, but excited because we get to see Scarlett and Tella’s sides of the story together and just.. yes!
Called Out Sick From Work to Read
Yes, I have done this. I have called out sick from work, just so I could read and finish a book. I stayed up until like 2 am one night, remembered I had to work at 7 am that morning, and called out before going to bed (was open 24 hours). Just so I could finish Love & Gelato.
Raced to Barnes & Noble Before Closing When I Had Nothing To Read
I have done this a couple of times, where I finished for example, an Abbi Glines book and realized I need more cutesy, steamy romance in my life, and raced to Barnes & Noble in my sweats to pick up another book just like the one I finished reading.
Used Food Money to Buy Books
Okay, so I might get into some trouble with this one if this certain someone reads it, BUT, just know its for a good cause. I am 100% awful for doing this, but I have told a certain someone in my life that I needed money for food (like a quick bite to eat), and then decided to use it to buy books. YES, I know I am awful. At first I totally meant to use that money for food, I promise! But, the books were calling me name. I needed them. They needed me. That’s the best excuse I have lol.
Guys, I might get into some trouble for that last one! Oh well, What are some of the craziest things you’ve done for the love of books?
