I read this great read last month and I’m just now finally getting around to writing a review for it. I think it’s one of my favorite books of all time. Definitely not my all time favorite (Hello Legendary lol), but it’s up there. Can’t wait to review this for you guys, share with me in the comments if you have read this and what you think!
Title: Undead Girl Gang
Author: Lily Anderson
Genre(s): young adult, paranormal, contemporary
Publication Date: May 8, 2018
Triggers: death, witchcraft, suicide
Mila Flores and her best friend Riley have always been inseparable. There’s not much excitement in their small town of Cross Creek, so Mila and Riley make their own fun, devoting most of their time to Riley’s favorite activity: amateur witchcraft.
So when Riley and two Fairmont Academy mean girls die under suspicious circumstances, Mila refuses to believe everyone’s explanation that her BFF was involved in a suicide pact. Instead, armed with a tube of lip gloss and an ancient grimoire, Mila does the unthinkable to uncover the truth: she brings the girls back to life.
Unfortunately, Riley, June, and Dayton have no recollection of their murders, but they do have unfinished business to attend to. Now, with only seven days until the spell wears off and the girls return to their graves, Mila must wrangle the distracted group of undead teens and work fast to discover their murderer…before the killer strikes again.
I’m just going to get started with the writing. Wow! I mean it was so easy to follow along, and I don’t think I had to re-read one word to try and understand anything. Great writing, and I’m really looking forward to reading something else of hers in the near future.
The big thing I loved was the plot twist, not giving anything away, but it was an amazing plot twist I didn’t see coming at ALL. I was sad that this plot twist was taking place though, but it happened. But it made an amazing story.
I think the only thing I really had a problem with was Riley. In the beginning we thought she was a great character by how much Mila talked about her. When she finally entered in the story, I didn’t care for her as a character. She was rude and just didn’t seem like the best friend we were all hoping for.
Have you guys read this book? Any thoughts?
