June 2019 TBR

It’s June you guys! Half of 2019 is gone, and I just can’t believe it. I’m really excited to get a lot of books read this month, I’m mainly in the mood for contemporary romance, but I’m taking more of a turn away from YA romance to New Adult/Adult romance, so that’s exciting. I’m sure I will still read some YA but probably not as much. Let’s get to the list of books I hope to get to this month!

Fumbled (Playbook #2) – Alexa Martin

Single-mother Poppy Patterson moved across the country when she was sixteen and pregnant to find a new normal. After years of hard work, she’s built a life she loves. It may include a job at a nightclub, weekend soccer games, and more stretch marks than she anticipated, but it’s all hers, and nobody can take that away. Well, except for one person.

TK Moore, the starting wide receiver for the Denver Mustangs, dreamt his entire life about being in the NFL. His world is football, parties, and women. Maybe at one point he thought his future would play out with his high school sweetheart by his side, but Poppy is long gone and he’s moved on.

When Poppy and TK cross paths in the most unlikely of places, emotions they’ve suppressed for years come rushing back. But with all the secrets they never told each other lying between them, they’ll need more than a dating playbook to help them navigate their relationship.

I read book #1 in May, I’m excited to get to this. There’s no random hashtags in this one, so I’m sure it’ll be much more enjoyable. Plus this one is actually getting a lot more hype than book #1 did.

Prince Charming (Royals, #1)

Prince Charming (Royals #1) – Rachel Hawkins

Meet Daisy Winters. She’s an offbeat sixteen-year-old Floridian with mermaid-red hair, a part time job at a bootleg Walmart, and a perfect older sister who’s nearly engaged to the Crown Prince of Scotland. Daisy has no desire to live in the spotlight, but relentless tabloid attention forces her join Ellie at the relative seclusion of the castle across the pond.

While the dashing young Miles has been appointed to teach Daisy the ropes of being regal, the prince’s roguish younger brother kicks up scandal wherever he goes, and tries his best to take Daisy along for the ride. The crown–and the intriguing Miles–might be trying to make Daisy into a lady . . . but Daisy may just rewrite the royal rulebook to suit herself.

Hailey In Bookland over on Youtube really enjoyed this book, and I usually take her word for books so I’m pretty excited about this.

We Regret to Inform You

We Regret To Inform You – Ariel Kaplan

Mischa Abramavicius is a walking, talking, top-scoring, perfectly well-rounded college application in human form. So when she’s rejected not only by the Ivies, but her loathsome safety school, she is shocked and devastated. All the sacrifices her mother made to send her to prep school, the late nights cramming for tests, the blatantly resume-padding extracurriculars (read: Students for Sober Driving) … all that for nothing.

As Mischa grapples with the prospect of an increasingly uncertain future, she questions how this could have happened in the first place. Is it possible that her transcript was hacked? With the help of her best friend and sometimes crush, Nate, and a group of eccentric techies known as “The Ophelia Syndicate,” Mischa launches an investigation that will shake the quiet community of Blanchard Prep to its stately brick foundations.

Summer Heat (Cruel Summer #1) – Rachel Van Dyken

Spoiled Princess is what he used to call me.We were an inferno of hate and passion wound up with a dash of chaos. For four years I watched him mow my lawn. For four years I watched my friends make fun of him.For four years I hated myself for wanting him, but even more for the way I treated him. And then I had him.For one night, we put all labels away and I spent the best night of my life in his arms.

Then the next day, with my secret night under lock and key, I looked the other way while my friends shamed him.But now the jokes on me, because the scrawny lawn boy who I secretly loved from afar is now the director of Hollywood’s most exclusive summer camp. And I’m on his staff. Now it’s his turn to punish me. His turn to make me pay.His turn to take his revenge after years of humiliation. He’s no longer a boy you can ridicule. But a college graduate who can have any woman he wants.I want him to look at me the way he did that one night we had together, but right now the look in his eyes tells me he’s going to enjoy having me under him for two straight months.I don’t know where his hatred ends, his passion begins. All I know is he wants revenge. And I’m his lucky target.
