Title: Under The Lights (Field Party #2)
Author: Abbi Glines
Genre: young adult, contemporary, romance
Publication Date: August 23, 2016
Willa can’t erase the bad decisions of her past that led her down the path she’s on now. But she can fight for forgiveness from her family. And she can protect herself by refusing to let anyone else get close to her.
High school quarterback and town golden boy Brady used to be the best of friends with Willa—she even had a crush on him when they were kids. But that’s all changed now: her life choices have made her a different person from the girl he used to know.
Gunner used to be friends with Willa and Brady, too. He too is larger than life and a high school football star—not to mention that his family basically owns the town of Lawton. He loves his life, and doesn’t care about anyone except himself. But Willa is the exception—and he understands the girl she’s become in a way no one else can.
As secrets come to light and hearts are broken, these former childhood friends must face the truth about growing up and falling in love…even if it means losing each other forever.
As like all the books by Abbi Glines that I have read, the writing is amazing. It flows great, and it just grabs you and sucks you in. Whenever I pick up one of her books, I always know I’ll probably be forced to read it in one sitting, which is exactly what happened lol.
This was one of her most intense books honestly. There were times I found myself yelling out loud when things were getting to be a lot. Usually I pick up her books for a light-hearted read and this was not that, which I actually liked! It took turns I wasn’t even expecting, it was insane. The characters were great, the story line was one that you just couldn’t leave, and I really hope to see more of this from her work in the future.
I know in the description there was supposed to be a ‘love triangle’ but their definitely wasn’t! I mean.. no there was, but it was lame. It was barely a love triangle… we all know who would end up together so, that kinda sucked.
The only other thing I didn’t like was the abrupt ending. I needed a little more after the intense rest of the book. She needs to work on her endings definitely lol. But still a good book!
Have you guys read this series? What have you thought so far?
