Hello everyone! I’m excited for today’s post since my original post, people really seemed to love and enjoy the idea. I originally did a post called Reading Positive Reviews About Books I Hated, and put them in a blog post. A lot of people really loved the idea I got and I wanted to of course do the opposite for you guys.
So this post I will be reading negative reviews about books I loved. I’ll be reading 1-2 star reviews on some of my favorite books, all ratings found on Goodreads. I won’t put anyone’s username from Goodreads out there, and I will only quote what these people have said, not post their full reviews. Now that we got that out of the way, let’s get onto this post!
Daisy Jones and The Six – Taylor Jenkins Reid

One of the best book’s I have possibly ever read.. I didn’t think I would even be able to find a negative comment on this book… but ladies and gentleman, I did. And I am shocked.
‘had they mentioned texting, and changed the ONE SINGLE MENTION of the Vietnam War to one of the current overseas conflict, this could have taken place today)‘
Okay, I would have to strongly disagree with this person haha. One of the reason’s why I loved this book was that it was very much taking place in the ’70’s. I feel like to fully enjoy this book, you have to know a little about the culture before hand, which I did due to my father’s love of a band during that time.
‘Remember when VH1’s Behind the Music was big? And eventually all the rock band stories started to sound similar? Struggle, success, creative clashing, musical epiphanies, drugs, band hookups. Every story was the same. Now imagine shelling out $17 to read the snooooooziest transcript of that story.’
It just goes to show you, people really do have very different opinions. The reason why I was able to read this book so quickly was because of the fact I felt like I was watching a VH1 Behind The Music episode and not even reading. I used to love these shows! Honestly, if you hear that story within that show regarding multiple bands, doesn’t it sound like that the most accurate description of a band in the ’70’s? *sips tea*
Legendary (Caraval #2) – Stephanie Garber

If you’re new to this blog.. Hi, I’m Ali and I’m a HUGE Caraval fan. This is going to be hard to read reviews on this book as it is easily one of my favorites of all time… let’s just get this one over with lol!
‘I didn’t even like Scarlett in the first book but having Tella as the POV this time was infinity worse.‘
Oh my god… my heart! Okay, I don’t know how, but I strongly disagree haha. Oh my god Tella is so much more interesting than Scarlett. I’m crying on the inside a little bit.
THIS BOOK IS ABOUT WEIRD THINGS STUCK IN CARDS NOT CARAVAL
Strangely, I see where this person is coming from. But in Caraval, I already saw what Caraval was! I needed a deeper story, and that’s what Legendary, it made it a deeper story rather than just simply a game that ends. Honestly, think about it! Who would want to read another book about another Caraval, that at the end you would know it would end and everything would be all fine and dandy again. Legendary put in place a back story to this magical world. Just how I see it I guess.
Okay, I did it lol. Maybe I’ll continue on with this in the future, I’m not positive. I know reading the negative reviews about these two books was rough, but I got through it, and I don’t know if I’ll be able to read reviews about Finale when I finish it haha. Have you guys ever done this to yourself and read negative reviews about books you loved? If you haven’t its torture I promise you.
Awesome post!! I love reading negative reviews to see if I agree with the comments or not 🙂

I like reading negative reviews just to see both sides of opinions. However, I do have to say I agree about Tella. Tella was why I liked Legendary and Finale.
