Hello all of my bookish friends! I have been reading some really good books within this trope category lately and would like to share with you some of my recommendations. Let’s just keep this intro short and get right onto to the post!
(1) The Unhoneymooners – Christina Lauren
Yes! I LOVED this book sooo so much. It fits perfectly into the enemies to lovers trope. It’s beautiful and perfect and very funny! Definitely would recommend if you’re a fan of this trope.
(2) Caraval – Stephanie Garber
I would definitely put book 1 of Caraval into this category. In book 1 we follow Scarlet as she participates in the game of Caraval. This boy, Julian, helps her throughout the game, and they kind of start off as enemies. If not enemies, definitely don’t really care for each other. Then they quickly start to fall for each other and there you have it, enemies to lover trope.
(3) Five Feet Apart – Rachael Lippincott, Tobias Iaconis, Mikki Daughtry
I would 100% say this is an enemies to lovers trope. We start off with a teenage girl named Stella who has a condition called cystic fybrosis. She is in the hospital receiving treatment when a boy named Will comes into the hospital with a similar condition. Will doesn’t take his health regimen seriously, Stella does.. and that creates the enemies part of the book. They slowly start hanging out together (of course being Five Feet Apart at all times though), and slowly begin to develop feelings for one another. Decent book, pretty good trope.
(4) Daisy Jones & The Six – Taylor Jenkins Reid
I feel this is one that will get a mixed reaction from people. Although I would hate to consider this a enemies to lover trope, I kind of do. I’m sorry, Billy & Daisy fit this trope. I won’t spoil the book for you, just read it and maybe you’ll see why I consider this one.
(5) Fairest of All: A Tale of The Wicked Queen – Serena Valentino
Now I know a lot of you are scrolling back to the top of the page to check if your on the right recommendations page. You in fact are on the right post, and yes, I’m including this last book in my list. Not a romantic enemies to lovers, but a family loving enemies to lovers. It actually goes from love to enemies and then back to love. I adored this book, honestly I’ll never forget how it made me feel. It gave me a whole new perspective on the Evil Queen as a whole and just.. ugh I have major feelings for this book. I was shocked at the ending, and I know if you haven’t read this book you will be too.
That’s my list! What book’s would you guys recommend that has the enemies to lovers trope in it? Leave your suggestions below!
