Reading Challenges I’m Participating In This Year

Hi everyone! So I guess this is the first year I’m deciding on really challenging myself this year to do some reading challenges. Last year I didn’t part take in any reading challenges, any read-a-thons really… and this year is the year of change. 2020 is going to be the year I really challenge myself. SO I figured we start off with going over the challenges I’ll be participating in this year.

Now these challenges will take place over the entire course of 2020. I’m not really rushing to get them over with since I have 365 days to try and get through this. So here’s the list of all the ones I will be participating in this year.

A to Z Challenge

So this challenge is pretty self explanatory, pretty much just trying to read books with titles that start with each letter of the alphabet. Obviously there’s going to be some tricky letters to cover (u,z,x, etc.) but I think that will honestly just push me to go out of my comfort zone, so I think this will be a fun one to do.

Little Inklings 2020 Reading Challenge

If any of you have her planner, this is the reading challenge she put out for this year in her planner. There’s a lot of fun props in this one like a book involving a heist, a book set in space, a book with a cover you don’t like, the last book in a series and the list goes on and on. This will definitely be a little more tricky for me, but I am super excited to challenge myself with this. I’ll link the printable here and she also has a template for instagram im pretty sure too, so definitely check that out.

Reading Rainbow Challenge

Pretty easy in my opinion, but this challenge is all about reading books with covers of every color in the rainbow. Here are the colors:

  • Red
  • Orange
  • Yellow
  • Green
  • Blue
  • Purple
  • Pink
  • White
  • Black
  • Gold (Bonus)
  • Silver (Bonus)
  • Bronze (Bonus)

I don’t think this will be too hard to complete, but still fun.

On The Cover Challenge

This is just a challenge where you have to read books with these things on the cover. These things are:

  • A Tree
  • A Sword
  • 2 or More People
  • An Animal
  • Mountains
  • Fire
  • Water
  • Mythical Creature
  • Wings
  • Moon Or Stars

I think this is pretty do-able too.

Goodreads 2019 Winners Challenge

I’ll be posting a total seperate post on this, but basically, you read all of the 2019 winners from Goodreads. Soooo.. let’s see how this goes because there are some genres I am just not into.

What reading challenges will you guys be participating in this year?

  1. Ha, I’m definitely the opposite. One of my reading challenges this year is to avoid getting sucked in by challenges because I always think I’ll enjoy them and then I don’t, which is a huge shame because they all sound really good.

    1. Who knows, this might be my goal next year since this is my first year ever trying to participate in challenges. I can totally see myself not enjoying challenges, but I will never know until I try right? haha.
